To the editor,
In Canada, we elect MPs, not a prime minister. The majority of our MPs have lost confidence in Conservative leader Stephen Harper, and want to tell him that, but they can't right now because the prime minister has run away and locked the doors of democracy.
By proroging, the PM has bought himself time to see what he can do to protect his job; in the meantime, Canadians are losing their jobs in record numbers.
The reality is that Harper is an unfit leader. He has lied about many things including fixed election dates, the Atlantic Accord, climate change, child care, seniors, jobs and the economy. I will not believe any more of Harper's lies.
He should know our country can't afford $300 million for another election. Let our democratically elected MPs get back to work and rid our Parliament of Harper's lies.
