Henry Rollins' long march

Punk icon drops in with some wisdom

When it comes to early '80s hardcore, you're either a Morris or a Rollins fan---or possibly a Dez Cadena fan. (Is anyone a Ron Reyes fan?) With this year's eponymous release by the Morris-fronted OFF!, it doesn't seem so dated to be talking about former Black Flag singers. Not to be outdone, Rollins is bringing this year's Long March spoken word tour to no less than 14 countries---in a kind of one-man crusade to prove that he still matters. It's like a head-to-head battle to see which former frontman will stave off irrelevancy. Regardless of where your allegiances may lie, you're probably wondering if you should go see Henry Rollins when he comes back to Halifax, watch Repo Man or sit at home and wonder why Dez Cadena is in The Misfits now. Don't be a moron. Get a ticket and go see one of the most prolific spoken word artists of our times. --Mark Black
