Re: “Party neighbours

What's with the young adults who think it's acceptable behaviour to scream in public late at night? It just started in recent years. Are they the kids of helicopter parents experiencing their first moment of freedom? I don't get it.

Re: “Let's make crows extinct!

It's doubtlessly a fledgling crow that you hear. It was hatched this spring and by this time has grown flight feathers so it can fly but can't feed itself yet. It follows it's mother around begging for food all day. That's what the constant squawking is.
I know a few human teens who are like that. It's far more annoying hearing them squawk. I'll take the birds any day.

Re: “F for fail!

According to the Nova Scotia educational curriculum, as a core competency, all high school students should be able to use both the Imperial and the SI systems. (SI stands for International System of Units upon which "metric" is based). They should be able to both measure in and convert between the two. See Grade 10 measures M1 thru M3 (pg.47): https://www.ednet.ns.ca/files/curriculum/L…

Blessed be the fruit.

Maybe your coworker is an "eye". If the boss mentions your reported mistakes, own up to them right away, tell them how you will avoid future mistakes, let it go, and move on. Above all - nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

I'll leave you with this:

Re: “Dog people

I don't necessarily see a case for banning certain dog breeds but large dogs and irresponsible owners/people who don't have control of their animals are a problem. I'm not sure what the answer is. In the case below, the victim may have scars on her face for the rest of her life and the dog owner ran off without offering assistance or taking responsibility. What kind of person would do that? http://thechronicleherald.ca/novascotia/15…

Re: “Dog people

I am fine with most dogs, and really like some of them, but I have to say that I don't agree with this trend of dogs being allowed in indoor spaces. The problem is that many people (due to their advanced age, cultural background, allergies. personal experiences, preferences, etc.) aren't very comfortable around dogs so they shouldn't have them forced upon them in indoor public spaces. It's just a matter of being considerate of other people who don't share your love of domestic animals.

Re: “North end diner

Eggstrordinary story! I'm no eggspert in the business, but I would eggspect all restaurants to eggspend a certain effort to provide eggceptional service.

Perhaps the cook was eggsperiencing an eggsistential crisis. To poach or not to poach? That is the question to be eggzamined.
