As we've mentioned
, the Halifax Independent Film Festival
is in town this week. The festival has joined forces with Women In Film & Television -Atlantic
and will be screening recent films written or directed by women hailing from Atlantic Canada. It’ll be happening at the Lord Nelson (1515 South Park Street, 423-6331) this Thursday, April 7, at 9pm. Tickets are $10 for regular folk, $8 for students and seniors.
Filmmakers from all four Atlantic provinces will be represented at the event. The ladies will stick around after the show and take part in a discussion panel along with members of the WIFT.
Nine films are being featured at this particular screening. Titles listed that make me want to attend include Ken Fucks Up
. For more info on this show, or anything else playing the festival this week, check out hiff.ca
