After Panos Giannoulis played in the rock band Their Majesties, he was drawn to a different sound. "I gravitated to jazz music, free-improvized music," he says. That led to the change of pace with PANOS, and a debut album that has more of a dream-pop feel, though that wasn't necessairly his goal. "I just had a bunch of songs I wanted to record and they all changed a lot through the recording process. I started with the basics and went from there," he says. "I just wanted to put out some music. I wrote so that people could hear it and I could show what I can do. Just to produce art in some way...because why not? It seems silly to say that I didn't really think about it that much, it was just a natural progression. I didn't really say 'I'm going to put this together and have a hit song,' I didn't have those aspirations." Whatever Giannoulis aimed for, he hit the mark with this album and next week you can see just how accurately at The Music Room.
