- What do you see in the future of public transit?
Twice this summer the Planning & Design Centre and Fusion Halifax brought together transit experts and community members to talk about the future of public transportation in our fair city. These weren't just little chit chats, they got the attention of about 100 participants who put their heads together to come up with some guiding principles for transit, and then they mapped out some of their ideas for possible transit networks. Now, in the third and final session of the series, it's all about how to get these ideas in motion. Participants, returning and new, will meet to brainstorm and then at 7:30pm will move to Grand Parade where their network design ideas will take shape as an interactive public art installation. "We want to mobilize the participants and the public at large to champion these ideas as our regional council and staff embark on these major decisions," says the PDC's Ross Soward. So even if you can't make the meeting, feast your eyes, and your brain, on what may be a glimpse into the future.
