Jack and the Beans Talk

New Review

The Theatre Arts Guild Christmas production Jack and the Beans Talk could be a primer for anyone wanting to know how to make amateur theatre more professional. It all starts with a great script. One, that while written for children, has some humour aimed straight at adults, and music that will appeal to both generations. Add to that young actors who will definitely have a career on the stage if they so choose, and older actors who have so much talent that it's almost a shame they only do this on the side. The production values are the finishing touch. Obviously some very creative minds came together for this show---the giant's hand is on par with something from Mermaid Theatre, and the costumes are just outstanding. Jack and the Beans Talk really is first-class fun at a great price. --Kate Watson
