When: Oct. 10-Jan. 4 2015
If you're from Halifax you've seen your share of dirty dirty rats. It's no secret we've got a rodent problem which is why Fredericton-based artist Janice Wright Cheney’s installation that's taking over the third floor of the gallery is so unsettling. Hundreds of rats created from recycled vintage fur coats are everywhere, behind doors in and outside cages, on the windows—it will give you the heebie jeebies, the reasons why are what Wright Cheney tries to get to the bottom of. Cellar explores our belief systems and takes issue with our fear by questioning the border between human beings and rats. Flashlight tour on October 30, 7:30pm will be extra creepy.
