Jenn Grant

Honeymoon Punch (Six Shooter)

Remember when Liz Phair tried to become a pop star? That risk certainly didn’t pay off for the indie rock icon. But Jenn Grant does it right, and with sincerity. She bravely leaves behind the devastating folk of Echoes to follow her heart wherever it leads---from the dance floor to the warmth of her kitchen to playing songs with friends that almost burst in happiness and love. Unafraid of genre-hopping, listen for Motown horns, country twang and 1980s electro-pop, with occasional stops back at her folk roots. Catchy, playful lyrics and danceable arrangements aside, Grant and producer/fiance Dan Ledwell (In-Flight Safety) keep Grant’s signature and often copied vocals as the showpiece, shimmering like a disco ball, even on bigger songs like “Oh My Heart” and “Getcha Good.” This is the album that will stick around long after the honeymoon is over.
