Last chance for The Stance

The much missed Halifax alt-rockers make a special appearance to say farewell to a special friend.

The secret's out. The Stance is back---well, for Thursday night at least. This one-off show is actually a special send-off for Mr. Just Friends Records, Mat Dunlap and it'll fittingly bring the MIA alt-rockers back to the room where they played their very first show (and met Dunlap for the very first time). "The cosmos are telling us we should probably play one more good show and then pack it in," says the band's singer/guitarist Mark MacAulay. He teases of experiments with a new group in the future that'll "surely be a much different beast than The Stance, even though the lineup will be similar." We're intrigued. Say sayonara to Dunlap, The Stance as you know them, and dance your pants off to DJ Ion and Just Friends supergroup Hymm.

Thursday September 1, The Khyber ICA (downstairs), 1588 Barrington Street, 9:30pm-12:30am $5
