In Sept of 06, the provincial government of Nova Scotia eliminated ALL funding for animal control and wildlife rescue. The reasoning was that Nova Scotians did not want to pay for such services, or didnt care enough about animals to keep the program in place. The only thing that the province will do now is assist an injured dog. They will not even attempt to save a cat! When my wife found a juvenile squirrel in her office, NOBODY would do anything. Trust me, i tried everyone. Then i found Hope for Wildlife. (www.hopeforwildlife.net) This non profit group is entirely volunteer, and they are the only resource wild animals have. (they saved the squirrel) I intend to change this. We take everything we can from nature, and do not give enough back. I intend to change this too. I have created an online petition to reinstate animal control services and funding for the province and I intend to submit it to the Premiers office. Please sign this petition listed below. I need your help. Get everyone you know to do the same so they can do a small part for nature www.ipetitions.com/petition/helpnovascotianwildlife
