Lindsay Allain gets crafty for the IWK

Local bands get together for Crafts for Kids, an annual series of benefit shows.

by

Thanks to Lindsay Allain, this weekend will be loaded with local music lineups and the holidays will be a little bit brighter, and more creative, for kids in the hospital. For six years she has been organizing a series of concerts called Crafts for Kids, an idea born out of her family's own experience at the IWK. "My sister actually likes going there because it's so much fun and I just wanted to contribute to that." The proceeds from the weekend are used to buy loads of fun in the form of craft supplies, musical instruments and games for kids spending time at the IWK. Crafts for Kids kicks off on Thursday with shows at Lost and Found (2383 Agricola St) at 6pm and Gus' Pub (2605 Agricola St) at 10pm, and carries through until Monday, with performances from way too many great musicians to fit into this little box.

Thu Dec 2-Mon Dec 6, for full details see live music listings, $15 donation gets you into every show
