Kyd Vicious: "I feel like it's a love me or hate me situation. No real in between.”

Self-proclaimed “controversial character” Kyd Vicious doubles down on his commitment to make music with “Can’t Get Rid Of Me.”

Produced by Kamikaze Beats, Kyd Vicious says “the inspiration for this song was really my life in general being less than fortunate within the last few months. It references the rap music scene of Nova Scotia too. I'm definitely a controversial character within the scene so it's sort of a middle finger to the people doing their hardest to throw dirt on my name.”

Kyd Vicious began rapping in 2011, saying it came naturally after years of listening. “It was mostly something to impress friends with and fire back at people within my high school who put me down for one reason or another,” he says.

Above all else, Kyd Vicious has a commitment to keeping it real both personally and professionally. “I have a very vocal and sometimes unappreciated opinion. I'm vocal and real about what I like and dislike. If someone sends me something to review or if I see something another artist puts out and I think it sucks, I'll tell them it sucks and I'll tell them exactly why. Some people can take the criticism,” he says. “I also move around the genre a lot in terms of sound. I started doing ‘90s type bar fest rap, then moved into this new pop oriented style and I'm sure other rappers see me differently for it. I feel like it's a love me or hate me situation. No real in between.”
