- Edouard Lock
- Grace-Anne Powers and Marcio Vinius from La La La Human Steps
The season kicks off September 29 at the Sir James Dunn Theatre with Trial & Eros' Four Quartets. This Montreal company presents a performance inspired by the poetry of TS Eliot. Take your English major friend to this.
The season continues with shows from BJM Danse (also from Montreal) with Locked Up Laura, Zip Zap Zoom and Rossini Cards. This trio of works promises to be "humorous... 100% intoxicating"
In November, Toronto's Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie present another program in three, In Paradisum. The final show of 2011 is from O Vertigo, titled Onde de choc (Shockwave), described as a "hymn to the body's internal forces."
2012 begins with local heroes Mocean Dance, performing their world premiere of a quartet commissioned by Tedd Robinson. This show is on a double bill with Claudia Moore performing Dances in a Small Room.
La La La Human Steps brings their ground-breaking style to the Cohn with new choreography from Edouard Lock. Described as "the company that has redefined ballet" this show should not be missed.
The season wraps up with New York's Terrain Dance performing Coming Together/Attica. This work is performed in a round with an ensemble of ten musicians, and will be presented as part of the Scotia Festival of Music.
Subscriptions for the season go on sale today. Live Art Dance will be offering two subscription packages, The Dance Fiend (all seven shows for $125, there is an early bird rate of $110 if you book by July 1) and The Dance Lover (any four shows $80).
