Lorraine Field: Vanishing Point

Lorraine Field's back in Halifax after living and teaching in Istanbul for five years, and she's showing her photographs from abroad through three series, collectively titled Vanishing Point. Each collection works with the common thread of landscape imagery. "Landscape imagery has consistently provided a kind of imagery that has allowed me to explore various concepts and issues that have engaged me," writes Field. In this exhibition, those themes are Canadian immigration, the female figure and oil production, each exhibited through the photographs taken in Canada, Turkey, Greece and other areas in the Middle East. –Holly Gordon
