Michel Poulette’s award-winning historic romance, based on Dominique Demers’s novel, is set 600 years ago in pre-European contact Canada, when the Innu tribe and the Inuit are mortal enemies. Maïna, the Innu Grand Chief’s daughter, is captured and forced to travel to “the Land of Ice” with Inuit clan leader, Natak. Born enemies, Maïna and Natak struggle to forge a relationship against the odds of cultural difference and daily survival.
