Manic Street Preachers

South Wales’ Manic Street Preachers are one of those bands who are huge in the UK, while nobody really gives a crap about them in North America. Non-followers will liken them to Coldplay, or even U2, but the Manics are as Britpop as it gets, and are still considered by some to be the fathers of the genre. With Lifeblood, the trio shows that they’ve still got it, specifically with the uplifting “1985,” the romantic “I Live to Fall Asleep,” and singles “The Love of Richard Nixon” and “Empty Souls.”
