Sooner or Later in Spain
Marah can’t get a break. Despite heavyweight fans in Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle, their Replacements-inspired rock has never made the band anything more than a cult favourite (though Matt Mays opened for them in New York last year). This live EP isn’t going to remedy this situation, but that shouldn’t dissuade the choir from seeking this out—like the Replacements, Marah is best experienced live. The disc’s tracks cull heavily from 2005’s excellent If You Didn’t Laugh, You’d Cry and, with the exception of the title track, showcases the more delicate (but still lively) side of Marah. Another solid release from the world’s best bar band.
