Kate Grey's ceramic renderings of household items are inspired by the types of finishes in lipsticks and paintings, exploring how we view objects and women. "This work uses surface and objects as a way to describe different personalities of women and their everyday dilemmas. Comedian Iliza Shlesinger describes lipstick as 'war paint' and this comparison made me consider feminine art also as war paint," her artist statement adds.
