To the editor,
My experience at Sensations Cabaret was not the same as articulated in "Where goes the neighbourhood?" (March 23). It is not the dark and seedy place that I pictured when reading the article. The dancers were amazing---for their acrobatic feats as much as their nudity---the staff is very friendly and the manager was personable with patrons. The doormen were on a visible mission of safety, looking out for the dancers, staff and patrons. Having been to all similar facilities that this town has to offer, I can say Sensations is definitely one of the better-run facilities in Metro.
I understand the concern voiced by the community, but there are more pressing matters at hand in the downtown core, such as the pre-existing prostitutes, the crack houses and the fact that you can score any sort of drug within a two-minute walk from wherever you're standing if you know the correct sources.
My friends and I have gone to Sensations four times and plan to continue going there in the future. Please, address the illegal ventures in the community, instead of wasting limited resources on attacking a well run, legally sound business.
