Mighty Mint Smoothie

Cooling, calming and super-fresh, enVieā€™s Diandra Phipps recommends you make this green dream part of your morning routine.



1 cup non-dairy milk
½ cup loose packed spinach
8 sprigs mint
½ frozen banana
1 small apple, cored
1 tbsp maple syrup
ice cubes

Wash produce and blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth. Drink and enjoy!

Mint helps sooth the digestive tract and eliminates toxins from the body.  It is is also rich in antioxidants, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and has a cooling and calming effect which makes it great for healthy, glowing skin. Spinach is a great source of dietary fibre, protein, iron and calcium—which makes this smoothie a great start to your morning routine. 

You can find fresh mint and edible flowers from Riverview Herbs, and spinach is one of the first greens available in the springtime in Nova Scotia, so keep an eye out at your local farmers' market!
