Molasses, Bread & Tea with John Christopher

When: Tue., Oct. 21, 7 p.m. 2014

Hear author and folk singer John Christopher, who will be giving a presentation based on his life and work among the recently resettled Inuit people of Whale Cove on Hudson’s Bay in 1962, where he was studying beluga whale population dynamics. He will also give a carefully balanced account of life aboard a Norwegian/Canadian seal hunting vessel, MV Theron, as it pursued its grim work among the ice floes off Newfoundland and Labrador. She was best known for her work as an Antarctic exploration vessel and was used as part of a 1956 expedition led by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sir Vivian Fuchs.
