For the last few months, Mortimer Cordero's online emporium has been selling reasonably priced electronics and designer fashions over the internet. This weekend, Cordero will launch his Halifax shop, also called, on the Birmingham side of the City Centre Atlantic. Despite the store's name, you don't need a wireless connection to enjoy the new shop—just transportation downtown, and an interest in obtaining top-of-the-line Nokia cell phones and men's and ladies' apparel, accessories and shoes (from brand-name designers like Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Michael Kors, and J. Lindeberg) at low prices. Cordero says he can offer his goods at low prices because he purchases wholesale. A world traveller, he's made his impressive fashion contacts while jet-setting to and fro. So, why should we check out the store? "We have the best stuff for the least cost," says Cordero, succinctly. Plus, checking out the store in person is probably a little less lonely than buying a pair of Uggs while surfing the net at home in your living room (although it does mean you'll have to change out of your PJs). Call the store at 402-4095.
