It's been a whirlwind year for Montreal band Moss Lime. It recorded its first handful of songs last July and swiftly caught the attention of Fixture Records, who released the sharp, post-punk EP July First in November. "In the beginning we weren't really picky. We were just trying to jam and make some songs," explains bassist and vocalist Hélène Barbier. "We had a goal to make five songs for this show, and we decided to record those songs to keep a souvenir of what we did in July."

Touring with a new lineup of Barbier, Jane L. Kasowicz on guitar and Jacob Spector on drums, Moss Lime will be performing songs from July First and its debut LP, due out this fall on Telephone Explosion Records. Catch the band at OBEY for a taste of this new, "smoother" material—they're excited and you should be too.
