Moving up from silver last year to take the gold for Most Important Local Issue is the city’s lack of affordable housing. Take that as a sign that the development boom and rising income inequality are pushing Halifax further towards a full-blown crisis (assuming you’re not convinced we’re already there). At least everyone at Halifax Transit can breathe a sigh of relief and relax now that bus service is no longer in the top slot. Next stop: don’t get cocky.
