It's so refreshing to read this editorial, telling it like it is. I worry the debates worked in favour of Harper, who managed to maintain a cold stateliness while his three opponents appeared frustrated and a little childish. Because of this Canadians might forget what the Harper government has done to undermine the policies that uphold Canadian values. Thank you for trying to make sure they don't.

I can't wait to see Miriam Toews tonight. I didn't find anything meandering about Irma Voth at all and the writing is just beautiful. I actually felt that as first person narrator Irma articulates her experience with incredible precision and wit. That's the power of the book! I wouldn't really pick up a Miriam Toews novel for a thrilling plot, there are other writers for that, but I actually think Irma Voth has more plot than A Complicated Kindness. There's a lot going on in terms of pure story. Well, I just loved the book. It's an amazing read.
