New music from Loveland, Ritchcraft, Nap Eyes & more
OVO fux wit Nicole Ariana

In case you missed it (#ICYMI), here are some pretty great recently released tracks from local musicians and bands for your listening pleasure on this goddamn beautiful day. Have a listen! ♥

Loveland - "Aloe Hotel"

Soft funk Halifax five-piece Loveland is killing the love-making music. Robert Loveless is a soul-singer incarnate. This one is for the lovers. I mean, it's not called Loveland for no reason. Hot sexy slow jams, amazing musicianship. You're gonna need the aloe, baby: this song burns.

Nap Eyes - "Mixer"

Ah yes, my well-tooted horn: Halifax "indie rockers" Nap Eyes released a new track from upcoming album, Thought Rock Fish Scale (You've Changed/Paradise of Bachelors). I learned this song just by going to all of Nigel Chapman's shows but it's recorded wonderfully; Seamus Dalton's drums are accentuated in a way that's sometimes lost live. This is balance.

Ritchcraft - "Memories" (feat. Gwyneth Christoffel)

Halifax producer James Ritchie dropped "Memories" featuring singer Gwenyth Christoffel earlier this month. It's got a very current vibe that still invokes classic throwbacks like Portishead and Super Nintendo. "Memories" makes me feel like a neon jellyfish. Ritchcraft also remixed the Little Dicky, Fetty Wap, Rich Homie Quan banger "Save Dat Money." Yeaaah baby *Fetty Wap voice* Looks like we have a hot new producer in the mix.

Nicole Ariana - "I'm Yours"

Earlier this year, Halifax's Nicole Ariana started collabos with OVO Sound's Eric Dingus in Austin, Texas, via Dream Sequence Records. A few weeks ago, she released the Dingus-produced track, "I'm Yours." It's super-sensual with some hard pounding in the middle. I don't know why all these tracks are making me horny. Almost the weekend. Anyway, our homegirl is killing it. I mean, you know who runs OVO, right? Ariana's tracks have always been impressive, emotive and hypnotizing, but knock knock, who's there, next-level. Dingus also put out a Halloween Mix on OVO Sound Radio and included Ariana on it (hit up 14:01). Really big tings.
