Keith Urban concert-damaged Common.

Remarks: Once again a concert trashes the Common, and once again Bigelow says the crews are out working their turf magic and everything will be honky spring. "That's why we have concerts in the fall, when the Commons isn't typically in use," he says. (Hey, we just report.) Bigelow blames the heavy rain in the days before the show. So, can we expect such damage every time there's a concert? "If it rains," he says.

Who's Responsible?: Peter Bigelow, real property manager for HRM, and world record holder for receiving Municipal Malfunction tickets, 490-6047.

Status: December 2008: Kind of Fixed Who knew 30,000 country fans could wreak even more devastation than 50,000 Stones’ fans? HRM posted signs telling us to keep off the grass, while it grew back. The grass is still sparse in patches, but we can look forward to using the Commons again this spring, unless there’s another concert, and it rains. Let’s hope it’s at least a good one.
