Pat Lepoidevin, Gianna Lauren, Corey Isenor

When: Sat., March 20, 8 p.m. 2010

Polar bears and wolves dance in the lyrics of Pat LePoidevin, a folk singer who hails from Princeton, BC, but can also call Sackville, NB, and Halifax, NS home, while drifting steadily toward Dawson City, YK, for his next chapter. "Some people tell me that my music reminds them of their childhood… This has sort of become a goal of mine, so I tend to personify a lot of animals and write some songs from a child's point of view," writes LePoidevin. He adds that the personification is only part of it---a sense of place and community also weave throughout. LePoidevin's latest and second release, Moonwolves, creates images from his childhood---returning to Princeton where he was raised, returning to wild animals that he once feared. A fitting place to be, as LePoidevin packs up his Halifax bags and heads across the country on a 30-show tour with his drummer and close friend Matthew Sarty, arriving home in Princeton and then heading north to Dawson City, where he says he's excited to write new material and record a third album. Find your own place among the polar bears and wolves as LePoidevin plays one last show with his fiddle, hulusi, guitar and ukelele before he sells everything he owns and heads home. –Holly Gordon
