- It's like this, but with art inside
You’ve noticed the luxuriously large periodicals around town, offering something more compelling to look at than The Flying Cow (mad respect, no H8). Now you can contribute and see your artistic offerings published in all their newsprinty glory. The Periodical Project, produced and curated by Chris Foster and Natalie Slater, seeks submissions for its second issue on the theme of light and dark. “Our first issue was well received and we want to continue to the momentum by publishing progressive issues featuring local art,” they say.
The Periodical Project is a “printed venue” dedicated to promoting the work of Halifax-based emerging artists. This portable dose of art seeks your “challenging, funny, honest, original and/or subversive” work pertaining to the theme. Submissions should be high quality .jpg or .tif, 11"x17". Feel free to submit up to three images. Include a brief bio or statement as well as your website address if applicable. The submission deadline is Thursday, December 15 at midnight. Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants will be contacted by December 29. The Periodical Project is unable to pay artist fees, but really, it’s the nicest looking thing going. That should be enough.
