To the editor,
Why is it that if the Halifax Regional Municipality doesn't have enough money to meet the recommendations for implementing its bike plan that it still seems to come up with the money for all those flower beds on Connaught Avenue, between Jubilee and Quinpool Road? Connaught Avenue is a beautiful boulevard already. So why would they gild the lily? Or are the new flower beds some kind of preventative action—to make sure that no one gets it in their heads that a bike path in the centre of the boulevard might be a good idea? I'm just wondering.
