    Re: “Eat local
The Pork Shop, Withrows, probably Brothers and Im sure many more places produce good quality bacon at a good price.
Do you want to eat meat thats from an animal thats been treated shitty, been killed weeks ago, and has travelled an unlimited distance before it arrived in your plate? Meat is the first thing that we should be buying locally.

    Re: “No tipping!
Maybe you were too unattractive to wait tables, thus you chose to work to pump gas? That would explain the bitterness. :D

    Re: “Bridge Idiots
I walked home across the bridge yesterday and saw two cyclists on the walk way, looking totally fucking stunned.. maybe it was the OP thinking she was in the bike lane

I've worked in a lot of restaurants around this city and it's true, most of them hire on appearance. Is that unfair? Yes. But we cater to the public and most of the public don't want unattractive people touching their food.. Most places would go out of buisness if the costumers caught a glimpse at the kitchen staff.

Bro Tim, do you ask convience store clerks to change their products especially to suit your needs? ie "I don't want any peanuts in this Oh Henry bar" or do you ask your gas jockey to take time out of his already busy day to clean off the booster seat for your child? Come on. I am a server, and generally I don't mind if a rare costumer/table doesn't tip. Not everyone is going to. But I've said this before, if you ask us to go above and beyond as most of you do, then tip.
And by the way, we pool our tips at my work. The kitchen gets 25% and the rest is split amoung the amount of servers working. And we all claim our tips.

As a server myself at a very popular restaurant, things can sometimes get chaotic. Therefore I am sympathetic and patient when I go out to eat.
Maybe the server could have been more apologetic, but it sounds like you are lacking manners and patience in the first place. Therefore you should probably stay home and cook your own dinner.
Whenever things get a little out of control for me at work, I do my best for all my tables, but definitely make my polite tables priorities.
And as for the manager, managers will always stick by their staff. Yes, a good manager would pick up a few tables or atleast help ensure the overall costumer service by running a few plates or taking a few orders.. but the fact that the manager went as far as to put you in your place, I'm sure you were even worse then you led on in your post, therefore your 1 cent tip is not worth putting up with you again.
