There is nothing better for hungry musicians to bond over than food, and that is exactly what Nick Everett and Poplar Pines' Scott Biggar did. It was after a dinner date that the decision to collaborate on a split EP was made. The two recorded separate songs on two discs but shared the title, Rocky Top. Everett and Biggar wanted an outlet to expand their sound and pursue their own creative understanding. Together, the three-week project combines two different sides of the folk genre, in nine beautifully written songs. Now during a 17-day tour across Ontario, Quebec, PEI and New Brunswick the boys are excited for the official EP release here in Halifax. "We're going for a very different concert-going experience," says Biggar.
