Ranters, Ravers and Raconteurs

Eyelevel Gallery's emerging artists show brings Atlantic artists to the window front.

Keltie MacNeill, interning curator at Eyelevel Gallery, believes in storytelling as a way of working on solutions, be it for the world's problems or those of a budding artist starting a career. That's why she made a call for artists who could tell a story through their work for Eyelevel's current show, Ranters, Ravers and Raconteurs. "It's a big talent that's overlooked," says MacNeill. "It's less about the narrative, and more about relating to one another, starting a discussion." Artists Aaron Weldon (work pictured above), Claire Halpine, Jessica Hein, Neil LaPierre, Noah Derek Logan and Susan Wolf present their stories through various media, ranging from Weldon's photo stroboscopic of his late father's entire photo archive to Hein's daily postcards written to her father while she shunned modern communication technology for a month. Hear MacNeill and several of the artists discuss the works Friday, June 18 at 7pm in the gallery.
