Remedy Facial Bar

After seven-and-a-half years in one spot, The Remedy Facial Bar & Spa (formerly of 1701 Barrington) has moved to bigger and better environs. The spa closed up shop in its old digs on Saturday and re-opened in its new home, at 1546 Granville (above Curiosities Antiques & Collectibles), on Tuesday morning. “We need to better suit our clients,” says owner Lisa MacDormand. The old space was too small to accommodate large groups---which became a problem when customers, enthused about the spa’s liquor licence, wanted to hold corporate events and stagettes there. The new spa space boasts more esthetic rooms and a larger manicure/pedicure area. Enthusiasts of cleanliness will also be pleased to note that the spa has showers now, too. Plus, Remedy’s famed facial bar is now bigger and shaped like an L, accommodating more aspiring Carrie Bradshaws looking to chat, swill Cosmos and apply self-serve facials than ever before. Otherwise, the new spa, like its predecessor, will be “nice and soothing” and “down-to-earth friendly,” says MacDormand. Like the girl next door, but with a bar. Call Remedy at 425-7586.
