To the editor,

In response to Phillippe Magown ("North end parking pains," Letterhead, August 14), I say "Welcome to this backward city." This city council really does not understand anything about less cars on the road and the environment. The main problem with this council and this city is amalgamation---most of the deadbeats on council live off the peninsula and don't care about other areas. The remaining dead weights say nothing or aren't vocal enough. The only thing they all agree on is a raise or more perks for themselves. Enough of this bull: Do the proper work people, whether you live in the main city area or not. Or, for god's sake, move ahead or get the hell off council and let younger, brighter and more vocal minds be elected to this council, people who care about the city and environment no matter what part of the HRM they live in!
