Strictly enforcing marriage (and thus procreation) of a person having a faulty gene with someone not having a faulty gene, would make sure that the faulty gene is preserved in the human population.

At least leaving it to chance would have the possibility of having the faulty mutations die out.

Also, not all mutations manifest in diseases (perhaps many would be); theory of evolution teaches us that survival of a specie depends on mutation.
