Violet Rosengarten's stunning painted-rope pieces are a study in texture. The artist's statement sums it up best: "I am inspired by nature, the debris on beaches, old barn doors and other time-worn surfaces. My investigations into texture have led to experimentation with rope and paint. Given the importance of rope in maritime culture, I am using this material symbolically to express my attachment to this place."
