Ryan MacGrath wants to be your Valentine's date

Together again with his entire band, the singer-songwriter promises an "over-the-top" show.

Lately, Ryan MacGrath has been playing his big, beautifully arranged songs on his own most of the time, trading dramatic instrumentation for a more intimate, stripped down sound. So playing a show with his full band is a Valentine's treat for the ECMA nominated artist. "I'm so big on layers and little nuances in my music, so when I'm playing solo I'm constantly missing all that stuff." This Saturday night soundtrack for lovers and lovelies alike, will be sweetened by the addition of the Halifax Uke Gang, "One ukulele is charming, 20 of them is just mind-blowing," says MacGrath. Sounds like this'll be a show to swoon over, folks.

Sat Feb 12, The Seahorse Tavern, 1665 Argyle Street, 10;10pm, $10/12
