Saint Mary's Reading Series: Richard Wagamese

When: Fri., Nov. 7, 7 p.m. 2014

Richard Wagamese, from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in Northwestern Ontario, was 22 years old when his Ojibway elders told him he had “stories in the curls of his fingers.” Not a bad place to keep stories, I guess. Since then he has published seven novels, five non-fiction titles, and one poetry collection. Proving we all aren’t working hard enough, Indian Horse, won the People’s Choice Award in 2013’s CBC Canada Reads. Here he’ll talk about his most recent novel, Medicine Walk.
