@ScotiaPharmacy wins Twitter

THE BEST DAMN FLYER YOU'LL FIND ONLINE

Have you followed @ScotiaPharmacy on Twitter yet?

The enthusiastic feed is all about sweet deals and spreading neighbourhood lovin' and it's a breath of fresh, hilarious—and yet highly informative—air. The (outdoor) voices behind the feed are Dylan (@DylanChew), Gabrielle (@GabGallant) and Kadeem (@KaKaHinch), they're also the faces you'll see when you pop into Scotia Pharmacy (2151 Gottingen Street) to mail a letter, pick up some Advil or Miracle Whip, or stock up on Nivea for your nightly age-fighting regime.

The trio says they decided to start tweeting to keep people in the loop about hot sales, and connect with other small local businesses. "It's also useful because we're located in a community that doesn't receive store flyers" And this stuff is solid gold.

We sent a few questions over the ether, trying to get some tips on tweeting done right. And with their minds on the biz Dylan, Gabrielle and Kadeem included a sweet deal with their lesson in social media—mention this blog post and you dedicated readers will get 20% off Atoma products (that's the new Rexall, FYI).

What other tweeters inform your style?

We really just try to be ourselves and we're so lucky that the store owners Peter and Jennifer Jorna let us take creative control of the front store. We draw on sandwich boards, make store signage, decorate for holidays and Kadeem even designed our store logo!

What are @ScotiaPharmacy's tips for successful tweeting?

1. BE YOURSELF
2. TWEET OFTEN
3. TAKE TONS OF PICS
4. REPLY TO YOUR FOLLOWERS ASAP
5. RT, FF & SUPPORT OTHER LOCAL BUSINESSES
6. HAVE FUN & DON'T BE TOO SERIOUS

What are the best deals at Scotia Pharmacy this week?

- 50% OFF ALL REXALL products (until they're gone!)
- $3.50 FOR 2L MILK
- $1 FOR A CAN OF POP (taxes in)

Can you sum up why people should follow you in 140 characters, #please?
