The largest Atlantic-owned grocery chain defines "local" as "Atlantic Canadian-grown or –produced," with 85 percent of all potatoes, onions, turnips, carrots, broccoli, and squash sourced from Atlantic Canadian producers, 60 percent of all apples available are grown in Nova Scotia, and more than 90 percent of its fresh turkeys and 80 percent of its fresh chicken. On the organic, sustainable fish and Fair Trade front, look on their shelves and bins for the Compliments Organics line, sustainably fished lobster, and Just Us! Coffee.
