While there are several errors and inaccuracies in Stephen Kimber's column, "The joke's on us," (Sep. 25, Upfront) I will contain my comment to the most flagrant one. While it's true that at one time Brian Mulroney did oppose a free trade agreement with the United States, Kimber, however, is being disingenuous when he implies that Mulroney only made it a reality when he became prime minister. Mulroney won a major election, the main focus of which was committing Canada to such an agreement.
