Brant Eisner, formerly the assistant director at Argyle Fine Art is starting up his own ambitious new space in a nine-room Victorian farmhouse. Swoon - Fine Art, Antiques and Fashion (1410 Hammonds Plains Road, 404-2888) is... well, maybe it’s best if we let Eisner explain: “Swoon will feature not only fine art and craft but also antiques and local fashion. Also of interest is the Holy Folk gallery upstairs which will feature folk art, The Cupboard (also upstairs) which is an entire room of salt and pepper shakers. This huge collection of almost 1500 s/p shakers was purchased from a private collector. Slowly but surely they will all make their way onto the shelves to be sold!. Downstairs you will find The Kiln, a gallery space dedicated to NS ceramics. Swoon will be like no other gallery experience in NS!” The grand opening takes place October 22, 23 and 24, with an opening reception the evening of the 22nd for the five solo shows that are happening on site.
