I walked into my favourite restaurant in Halifax on Saturday night and was pleased to see that the diners of Halifax don't pay attention to the negative commentary of your food critic. As I entered SYN on Blowers I was greeted with the aroma of wonderful food and the great soundtrack of dining (laughter, glasses clinking and people enjoying themselves). I could not help but notice that no patron seemed to be suffering with the "burning, parched tongue" as Ms. Feltham alleged she endured but they were practically licking their plates clean!
I have dined at SYN numerous times (so many times that there should be a room named in my honour), I have never found anything to be overseasoned and the leap of logic that would have to be made to categorize Chef Ron Muise's fabulous meals as unpalatable is beyond comprehension. I appreciate that palates vary but I was dumbfounded by what can only be categorized as an attack on my much loved parsnip shards. They are delcious - end of story. I agree with Ms. Feltham's description of the pork loin as "fabulous", but I would extend the description to the entire menu at SYN including the wine list.
