The Dream Continues: A Musical Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

When: Sat., Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m. 2010

The Nova Scotia Mass Choir's annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.---just two days before the activist's birthday---is a yearly tradition, but this year's concert is anything but traditional. The NSMC, LA musical director Woody Woods and CBC producer/recording engineer Karl Falkenham have teamed up to give the show some momentum. "Usually three minds are better than one, so we [CBC] decided to come in as a co-producer and sell the show, give it as much exposure as we could in order to show the rest of the country what great musical base of talent we have out here," says Falkenham, who produced the two award-winning NSMC albums to date. The Choir will be making sweet music with Jamie Sparks, FIZ, The Sanctified Brothers, Novelee Buchan, Wallace Smith and Linda Carvery, bringing R&B, hip-hop and gospel together under one roof. –Holly Gordon

Price: $25 ($23.50 in groups of eight)
