The George W. Bush Singers
Songs in the Key Of W.
(True Believer)
Right down to the “Grammatical Advisory” sticker on the cover, Songs in the Key Of W. is meant to be totally kitsch, completely farcical and a laugh riot. What it isn’t, however, is politically poignant or even slightly funny. Hey, we all know Bush-isms are humorous and abundant. But the joke—play a Dubya speech flub and then have a chorus sing it back as either a country or a Broadway tune—runs thin pretty quickly. It is a one-trick pony that could have been much more of a cold sore. Instead it is just a scratch.
