The Holy Mountain Analog Band

The Return to Lonely Mountain (independent)

Hiraeth is a Welsh word. There is no English analogue for it, but it envelops nostalgia, loss, missing something and homesickness. Right now I miss my friends. Right now I'm thinking they're probably listening to the dumpster-load of Fela Kuti dropped onto Bandcamp two weeks ago, hitting the illicits and on the nights where the sunken-eyed repartee stretches till morning, sleeping together and taking what they want from each other. It is 4am right now and I am listening to "The Cheer Up Boy" by The Holy Mountain Analog Band and I can hear the roosters again. My friend Josh said once that music never makes you sad, it only reinforces what was already there.
