The Incredible Picnic

The buy-and-eat-local picnic will return to Halifax. It was planned for late August last year but was scuppered by bad weather. This year it may take place on a number of days through the month, or they may gamble with the weather gods again, and aim for a Sunday at the Garrison Grounds. An initiative of Select Nova Scotia, in 2008 the picnic welcomed local farmers and food producers under a big tent and we all got to enjoy fresh, environmentally sustainable grub. –Carsten Knox
