The Pinecones

Sage (Just Friends)

Akin to Dylan plugging in way back when, Brent Randall leaves behind the keyboard to shoulder the guitar. Now, before you get your knickers in a knot, the scale of these two events obviously differs, but the spirit's the same. Randall's known for leading a pop-orchestra (previously, His Pinecones) from the piano/organ, so playing more and harder guitar is notable (like E with Eels circa Souljacker). "Ardmore Jenny" pounds ya with power chords, crossing early Who and The Stooges. All the lads add tunes of their own, while trading instruments. Brian O'Reilly's "Act a Gentleman," Paul Linklater's "Jenny Fur" and Joel Goguen's "Never Seen the Likes" all kill.
